Job summary

Brady Services in North Carolina is seeking a Level 2 Icon Boiler Mechanic to independently perform routine boiler repair, installation, pipe fitting, welding, and related steam-system work.

The role requires reading drawings, completing tasks with minimal supervision, mentoring junior staff, and traveling to customer sites with overtime as needed. You will work on firetube and watertube re-tubing, refractory inspection, and maintain field records and customer updates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
• Typically two or more years of relevant boiler, industrial mechanical, pipe fitting, welding, or service experience.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, pipe drawings, and equipment manuals.
• Welding qualification or ability to pass assigned tests.
• Strong documentation, math, troubleshooting, and basic computer skills.
• Pass required drug screening and establish U.S. employment eligibility.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Independently execute routine boiler-mechanical assignments per scope and safety rules.
• Prepare boilers for inspection and perform removal, installation, alignment, repair of boilers and associated equipment.
• Perform cutting, brazing, soldering, pipe fitting, threading, gasket installation, basic welding.
• Support routine re-tubing, tube-sheet prep, tube installation, hydrotest preparation.
• Inspect refractory, patch, measure materials, and support dry-out/bake-out.
• Work with feedwater, condensate systems, and troubleshoot related issues.
• Read drawings and trace control wiring; identify starters and phase rotation requirements.
• Build and support valve, expansion tank, and piping work; maintain records.
• Document work and communicate issues to leadership; mentor Helpers.
• Travel and overtime as required.
