Job summary

Siemens AG in Sacramento, CA is seeking a Production Supervisor for Bogie Machining and CTA Girder Weld on 1st shift. You will lead welding, machining and fabrication teams, manage daily priorities, and apply Lean methods to boost safety, quality and efficiency.

You will coordinate with Engineering and Quality Assurance, drive material readiness, and mentor staff while ensuring on-time delivery in a demanding rail/manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Manufacturing, Engineering, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of manufacturing leadership, launching or supporting new lines in low-volume settings.
• Rail industry experience is highly valued.
• Strong SAP or comparable MRP/ERP knowledge to manage operations.
• Proven Lean manufacturing and CI experience incl 5S, Kanban, and waste reduction.
• Experience identifying root causes and implementing sustainable improvements.
• Hands-on support for service/maintenance or aftermarket operations preferred.
• Experience developing automation and manufacturing technology roadmaps.
• Certifications such as Six Sigma Black Belt or Lean are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily welding, fabrication, and machining operations and supervise technicians and CNC staff.
• Ensure safety, quality, and compliance; follow WPS, 6S, and environmental guidelines.
• Drive Lean and continuous improvement; monitor OEE and TAKT time; reduce changeovers.
• Manage workflow, machine loading, tooling, and materials to support on-time delivery.
• Address non-conformances, coordinate with Engineering and Quality Assurance; manage costs and training.
