Job summary

Siemens, a leader in rail propulsion and mobility, is seeking a Production Supervisor for Light Rail/Locomotive Weld on 2nd shift in Sacramento, CA. You will lead welding and fabrication teams, drive safety and quality, and implement Lean improvements to deliver on-time production.

The role requires 5+ years of manufacturing leadership in complex environments, rail industry experience, and strong SAP/ERP knowledge, with a background in Lean and CI methods to cut waste and improve flow.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of manufacturing leadership experience in complex, low-volume environments.
• Experience in rail production is highly valued.
• Strong knowledge of SAP or comparable MRP/ERP systems.
• Proven ability to apply Lean manufacturing and CI principles (5S, waste reduction, Kanban, VSM).
• Experience identifying root causes and implementing sustainable improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily welding and fabrication operations, supervising Production Technicians, Operators, and other team members to meet schedules.
• Ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance (EHS, OSHA, procedures, WPS, specifications).
• Drive Lean and continuous improvement, reduce waste, maintain 6S, improve standardized work.
• Balance line capacity, monitor OEE/TAKT, and optimize workflow and material flow.
• Address non-conformances, coordinate inspections, and manage cost, quality, and productivity.
