Job summary

Kemper is seeking experienced Represented Bodily Injury Claims Adjusters to join our growing teams. This role focuses on analysis and negotiation of complex bodily injury claims after initial coverage determinations, with inventories often involving attorney-represented files across multiple states.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• At least 3 years of casualty claim experience in auto insurance.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and web-based applications.
• Must obtain and maintain state licensing where applicable.
• Strong time management and analytical abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong negotiation skills for settlements.

Responsibilities

• Initiate thorough coverage and liability investigations.
• Draft coverage letters as appropriate.
• Evaluate and resolve moderate to severe bodily injury claims, including fatal claims.
• Obtain and analyze complex medical records and data.
• Research and apply applicable laws across multiple states.
• Submit timely large loss reports and referrals to home office when appropriate.
• Prepare and present high-exposure cases to claims management.
• Timely reserve losses and monitor reserve adequacy.
• Negotiate settlements with claimants and attorneys.
• Adjust UM/UIM claims.
