Job summary

Kemper is seeking a Represented Casualty Claims Adjuster to investigate, evaluate, and negotiate bodily injury and property damage claims across multiple offices including Doral, Lake Mary, Birmingham, Downers Grove, Richardson, and McAllen. This role requires strong analytics, independent work, and teamwork to move claims toward final resolution.

Responsibilities include assessing coverage, liability, and damages, negotiating settlements, and mentoring staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• A minimum of three years of casualty claim experience in the auto insurance industry.
• Proficiency in basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite products and web-based applications.
• Must obtain and maintain state required licensing, where applicable.
• Initiative, sound judgement, and discretion.
• Comprehensive understanding of insurance policies and knowledge of relevant state laws and regulations governing auto insurance claims.
• Time management skills ensuring deadlines are met for claim resolution.
• Strong analytical skills to evaluate claim information, assess damages, and make informed decisions regarding liability and settlement amounts.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with various stakeholders.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong negotiation skills for resolving disputes and reaching agreements.

Responsibilities

• Investigate casualty claims of varying complexity.
• Develop strategies to resolve coverage, liability, injury, and property damage.
• Ensure records verify coverage and make financial decisions within limits.
• Develop and implement negotiation strategies for settlements.
• Document injury histories and research applicable laws and case precedents.
• Maintain reserves and document claim progression.
• Attend depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials when needed.
• Mentor and train staff; collaborate with departments to move claims to resolution.
