Selective Insurance is seeking a claims handler to directly manage non-litigated and lower-level auto and general liability claims. The role includes coverage analysis, investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and disposition in line with company policy and authority levels.

Responsibilities span from initial intake and information gathering to settlement, expense review, and reserves maintenance. The position emphasizes compliance, accuracy, and timely processing of claims.

Responsabilidades

• Investigate coverage and liability of claims via phone, letters, or in person; issue coverage letters.
• Evaluate loss extent considering contributory or comparative negligence and coordinate medical exams.
• Process inquiries from insureds, claimants, and agents; coordinate with underwriters and agents on resolution.
• Evaluate, negotiate, and resolve claims within delegated authority; assign counsel when needed.
• Update claims system with status and determine chargeability; review expenses.
• Close claims by issuing payments or denials and secure releases; manage reserve levels.
