Job summary

Headway ABA is seeking a BCBA in North Carolina for a role that can be part-time or full-time and is on-site with hybrid options. You will conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, oversee therapy implementation, and train staff, while collaborating with families for education and ongoing communication.

You will monitor progress, ensure documentation accuracy, and maintain ethical ABA practices aligned with regulatory requirements. This position offers flexible hours and caseload autonomy.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in ABA/related field required.
  • BCBA certification and active state licensure required.
  • Experience conducting FBAs and skills assessments (VB-MAPP, ABLLS-R, AFLS, etc.).
  • Assent-based, play-based, and child-led ABA approach preferred.
  • Ability to supervise and mentor RBTs and staff; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Oversee ABA therapy implementation and staff supervision.
  • Train caregivers, collaborate with families, and provide parent education.
  • Monitor client progress and adjust plans to improve outcomes.
  • Maintain compliant documentation and coordinate with insurers/regulators.

Education

Master’s degree in applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or related field
BCBA certification
Active state licensure/certification to practice behavior analysis
Assent-based, play-based, and child-led approach to ABA
Experience supervising RBTs or behavior technicians
Experience training caregivers and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Role Description

This is a part time or full-time, on-site/hybrid role for a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in North Carolina. The BCBA will be responsible for conducting assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, overseeing ABA therapy implementation, and training and supporting staff members.

The role also includes collaborating with families and caregivers to provide parent education and maintain open communication to enhance treatment outcomes. Continuous monitoring and analysis of client progress will be integral to the position.

Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or a related field
  • Current certification as a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board
  • Active state licensure/certification to practice behavior analysis
  • Assent-based, play-based, and child-led approach to ABA
  • Experience conducting FBAs and Skills Assessments (VB-MAPP, ABLLS-R, AFLS, Socially Savvy, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based ABA principles, interventions, and ethical guidelines
  • Experience developing, implementing, and monitoring individualized treatment plans
  • Ability to supervise and mentor Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) and/or behavior technicians
  • Experience training caregivers and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams
  • Strong clinical decision-making, organizational, and problem-solving skillsEffective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage documentation and maintain compliance with insurance, funding, and regulatory requirements
  • Proficiency with data collection platforms preferred
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
