Job summary

Florida Blue Group in Jacksonville, FL seeks a Building Management Systems (BMS) Technician to monitor and optimize HVAC systems across office, clinical and retail locations. Working independently under supervision, you’ll identify faults, perform preventive maintenance, and pursue energy-saving opportunities while ensuring safety and compliance.

The role emphasizes hands-on BMS operation, reading blueprints, and applying basic programming knowledge.

Qualifications

• 4+ years experience with Automated Building Management Systems.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience installing and repairing BMS components.
• Basic programming knowledge for structure and syntax.
• Experience with chiller plant operations.
• Ability to read blueprints, mechanical diagrams, and electrical schematics.
• Familiar with building systems maintenance and operation.
• Willing to work day, night, weekends, overtime and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate Automated BMS and HVAC systems.
• Perform daily rounds to check system operation.
• Optimize system efficiency and energy consumption.
• Troubleshoot BMS faults and perform maintenance.
• Repair/replace and calibrate field controllers and inputs.
