Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a skilled BMS Operator to monitor and manage the Building Management System across a major North American electric vehicle battery campus. The role emphasizes real-time monitoring, diagnostics, and proactive maintenance to keep HVAC, lighting and energy systems running efficiently.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years in HVAC, strong troubleshooting abilities, and familiarity with BMS platforms such as Trane, Honeywell, Siemens or Schneider Electric.

Qualifications

• Proficient in control theory and building subsystems.
• 5+ years HVAC experience with troubleshooting/repair.
• Ability to clearly communicate system status and resolutions.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Attention to detail to monitor parameters and deviations.
• Team collaboration with facility staff and contractors.
• HVAC or related certifications preferred.
• Familiarity with major BMS platforms (Trane, Honeywell, Siemens, Schneider).

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate BMS for HVAC, lighting, electrical, and safety systems.
• Diagnose BMS issues and coordinate repairs with maintenance.
• Respond to alarms and elevate issues as needed.
• Generate reports on system performance and energy use.
• Assist with system upgrades and configuration changes.
• Ensure operations comply with safety and environmental standards.
• Provide technical support to facility teams.
• Serve as first responder for BMS emergencies.
