Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a skilled BMS Operator to monitor and control building management systems for a major North American campus. You will oversee HVAC, lighting, and energy management, diagnose issues, and coordinate with maintenance and subcontractors to minimize downtime.

The role requires strong technical knowledge in control systems, several years of HVAC experience, and proficiency with major BMS platforms.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years HVAC troubleshooting/repair experience.
• Diploma/Associate degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• HVAC or BMS operation certification preferred.
• Strong communication and writing skills.
• Familiarity with major BMS platforms (Trane, Honeywell, Siemens, Schneider).

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate BMS to ensure proper operation of HVAC, lighting, electrical and fire safety systems.
• Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting of BMS systems and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime.
• Respond to alarms and faults and investigate causes.
• Generate and maintain reports on system performance and energy use.
• Assist in configuring and upgrading system settings for operations or new installations.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Provide technical support to facility teams and occupants.
• Act as first point of contact in BMS emergencies and restore systems quickly.
