Key Responsibilities

• Recognize patient distress and take action as necessary.
• Greet patients and ensure sign‑in process is completed. Inform patients of approximate wait time and explain waiting periods.
• Verify patient insurance eligibility via telephone, fax, or Internet; collect co‑payments. Correct patient demographic information and update insurance carrier details.
• Answer incoming calls and schedule appointments as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of counters, empty trash, and keep waiting room and front office area tidy.
• Refer patients to billing department for assistance when needed.
• Perform daily balancing, proofing/posting, and deposit to bank as required.
• Copy and send patient medical records when requested.
• File charts; must be able to climb a ladder, bend, lift overhead up to 20 lbs.
• Assist in training new employees and maintain compliance with Code of Conduct, timekeeping, Sexual Harassment, Workplace Violence, OSHA/HIPAA training.
• Complete PSR career development program within first year of employment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

A good candidate will bring:
