Job summary

Altium Packaging in Sherman, TX seeks an experienced Machine Operator to run blow-mold, grinder and trimmer equipment and manage the production line. You will troubleshoot issues, maintain equipment, and ensure quality control through weights, audits and SPC data.

The role requires reading blueprints and schematics, staying compliant with safety standards, and providing reliable, continuous operations, with potential overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years’ experience as a machine operator.
• 2+ years’ blow mold machine operation preferred.
• Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools (caliper, micrometer).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and analytical skills.
• Troubleshooting and machine maintenance experience.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards and applicable laws.
• Set up machines (calibration, cleaning) to start a production cycle.
• Control and adjust machine settings (e.g., speed).
• Operate blow-mold machines (including wheels, reciprocator or shuttle machines).
• Perform audits, weights and quality checks.
• Check output to spot machine-related mistakes or flaws.
• Keep records of approved and defective units or final products.
• Enter data into SPC database for quality control measures.
• Troubleshoot, preventative maintenance, minor repair on blow mold & support equipment.
• Repair or replace pneumatic and hydraulic lines.
• Maintain activity logs.
