Job summary

The American Red Cross is hiring for a phlebotomy-trained entry-level position in Fairfax, VA. Paid training is provided; no prior medical experience is required. The role involves supporting blood collection sites, guiding donors, and ensuring safety procedures are followed.

The starting rate is $18.97/hour with a variable schedule (Mon-Fri or Tue-Sat) and potential early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays. A high school diploma and valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills are required.
• A current, valid driver's license with good driving record is required.
• Physical requirements may include the ability to lift, push or pull heavy weights, long hours and frequent schedule changes.
• Basic computer skills are required. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
• Prior healthcare or phlebotomy experience (CNA, MA, EMT etc.) preferred.
• Prior leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilize healthcare and/or customer service skills to assist with the blood collection process.
• Collaborate with team to transport and set up equipment at collection sites.
• Create a welcoming environment for volunteer donors while following safety procedures.
