Job summary

Global Roles is seeking a Blood Collection Staff member to assist in all steps of the blood collection process, with paid phlebotomy training provided. You will help create a welcoming environment for donors and support lifesaving blood donations for the American Red Cross.

This role involves driving Red Cross vehicles as needed, working in variable schedules including early mornings and nights, and adhering to strict safety procedures to ensure donor and staff safety.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills required.
• Current, valid driver's license with good driving record required.
• Physical requirements may include lifting, pushing or pulling heavy weights; sit/stand for long periods; irregular hours.
• Minimum height of 60 inches may be required to operate Red Cross vehicles.
• Basic computer skills required; proficient with Microsoft Office.

• Collaborate with team members to transport and set up equipment at collection sites
• Create a welcoming and comfortable environment for volunteer donors
• Follow all safety procedures while collecting blood donations
• Drive Red Cross vehicles as needed and assist with setup and teardown of equipment at donation sites
• Work variable schedules including early mornings, late nights, weekends, holidays, and possible overnight travel

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is required
• Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills are required
• A current, valid driver's license with a good driving record is required
• Physical requirements may include the ability to lift, push or pull heavy weights up and down ramps and stairs, good manual dexterity, the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time and adapt to long, irregular hours and frequent schedule changes are required
• Position may require a minimum height of 60 inches to ensure the ability to safely operate Red Cross vehicles
• Basic computer skills are required
• Must be proficient with Microsoft office applications
• Prior healthcare or phlebotomy experience (CNA, MA, EMT, etc.) is a competitive advantage
• Prior leadership experience is a competitive advantage
