Job Overview

As a team member you will utilize your healthcare and/or customer service skills to assist with every step of the blood collection process – from transportation and setup of equipment at local community collection sites, creating a welcoming environment for volunteer donors, to adhering to safety procedures while collecting lifesaving blood donations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take the time to personally connect with donors, listen to their stories, and help them understand the impact of their donation.
  • Collaborate with teammates to create a welcoming and friendly environment that encourages donors to return.
  • Maintain detail orientation all day, ensuring that collected blood meets regulatory requirements and safety standards.
  • Drive Red Cross vehicles when required, assist with setup and teardown of equipment at donation sites, and meet the minimum height requirement of 60 inches for vehicle operation.
  • Work as a team to set up and tear down equipment for mobile blood drives conducted at businesses, schools, and other locations.
Standard Schedule
  • Variable shift schedule, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional overnight travel.
  • Schedule is provided two to three weeks in advance.
Pay Information
  • Starting rate $19.50 per hour, with potential increases based on experience.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills.
  • Current, valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Physical ability to lift, push or pull heavy weights, navigate ramps and stairs, and accommodate long, irregular hours with frequent schedule changes; minimum height of 60 inches for vehicle operation.
  • Basic computer skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior healthcare or phlebotomy experience (CNA, MA, EMT, etc.).
  • Prior leadership experience.
