Job summary

The Blood Collection Staff role at American Red Cross utilizes healthcare and customer service skills to assist with the blood collection process, including equipment setup, donor interaction, and safety procedures. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills are required.
• A current, valid driver's license with good driving record is required.
• Physical requirements may include the ability to lift, push or pull heavy weights up and down ramps and stairs, good manual dexterity, the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time and adapt to long, irregular hours and frequent schedule changes is required.
• Position may require minimum height of 60 inches to ensure the ability to safely operate Red Cross vehicles
• Basic computer skills are required.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
• Bi-Lingual (English/Spanish preferred, other languages a plus) is preferred
• Prior healthcare or phlebotomy experience (CNA, MA, EMT, etc.) is preferred
• Prior leadership experience is preferred

• May drive Red Cross vehicles and work with team to setup and tear down equipment at donation sites
• Work variable schedule including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays
• Schedule is provided two to three weeks in advance
