Job summary

The American Red Cross in Boise, Idaho, is seeking a phlebotomist to support donor blood collection. You will connect with donors, set up and maintain a welcoming environment, and ensure procedures meet safety and regulatory standards.

Paid phlebotomy training is provided as you grow your healthcare skills within the nation’s top humanitarian organization. Schedule includes variable hours, with pay between $18.00 and $22.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills are required.
• A current, valid driver’s license with a good driving record is required.
• Physical requirements may include lifting, pushing or pulling heavy weights and long hours; minimum height 60 inches may be required to operate vehicles.
• Basic computer skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Connect with donors, listen to their stories and explain the impact of their donation.
• Work with teammates to create a welcoming environment for donors to return.
• Ensure blood collection meets goals and regulatory requirements and is safely transfused.
• May drive Red Cross vehicles and assist with setting up and tearing down equipment at donation sites.
