Orlando Health ORMC Laboratory is seeking a Department Quality Specialist for Blood Bank operations. You will lead quality initiatives, ensure regulatory compliance, and support accreditation readiness to safeguard transfusion safety and patient outcomes.

The role partners with laboratory leadership and clinical teams, focusing on process improvement, documentation, and training across information systems used in the department.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or related field is required.
• Hold nationally recognized certification eligibility (ASCP/MT/CLS/NCA).
• Five years of laboratory experience; Blood Banking experience preferred.
• Knowledge of quality management, regulatory compliance, and accreditation standards.
• Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Provides advanced consultation to optimize information systems within the department.
• Recommends system usage improvements to enhance workflow and efficiency.
• Prepares the department for system upgrades or maintenance.
• Performs informal end user system training on department apps.
• Develops complex reports using vendor-supported tools.
• Supports system troubleshooting and problem resolution with ITS.
