Job summary

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York seeks a Senior Manager, Blood Bank, to oversee transfusion services across MSK locations. You will lead operational excellence, ensure regulatory readiness, and drive quality initiatives to support complex oncology patients.

The role requires a NYS CLS license, a BS in Medical Laboratory Science or related field, and 10+ years of leadership in Blood Bank. ASCP certification is preferred, with collaboration across physicians and laboratory

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field.
• New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License.
• 10+ years of leadership in Blood Bank operations.
• ASCP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational leadership for Blood Bank services across MSK locations.
• Mentor and develop laboratory supervisors and staff to build a high-performing team.
• Ensure compliance with NYS, AABB, CAP, CLIA, FDA, and institutional requirements.
• Oversee quality management initiatives, accreditation readiness, and corrective actions.
• Partner with physicians and leadership to optimize workflows and service delivery.
• Manage staffing, scheduling, and employee development across sites.
• Participate in budgeting, resource planning, and vendor management.
• Support technology implementations and process improvements across locations.
