Job summary

NYU Grossman School of Medicine is seeking an Administrative Director, Blood Bank at Bellevue Hospital. The role plans, develops, and evaluates Blood Bank laboratory operations, ensuring safe transfusion processes per standards set by AABB, CAP, NYS DoH, FDA, CLIA, Joint Commission, and BBQAPSA.

The position requires leadership, regulatory expertise, and extensive clinical laboratory experience, with a focus on quality, safety, and staff development within a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology or related field.
• NYS technologist license from the Office of the Professions, State Education Department, State of New York.
• Minimum of six (6) years in a clinical laboratory with supervisory/management responsibilities.
• Knowledgeable in Quality Control procedures and Laboratory Automation.
• Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversees Blood Bank laboratory operations and staff.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies and BB BBQAPSA.
• Maintains and troubleshoots automated equipment.
• Develops and monitors quality assurance programs and SOPs.
• Prepares reports and oversees inventory and supplies.
