University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center seeks a Transfusion Services Operations Support Specialist to ensure the Blood Bank department has blood products, reagents, and equipment for safe patient care within a leading cancer center. The role emphasizes ownership of operational functions, inventory management, vendor liaison, and system expertise.

Ideal candidates will hold an MLS/BB ASCP certification or equivalent and bring substantial blood bank experience to support daily laboratory

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology OR Bachelor’s Degree in a related science field OR NAACLS-accredited program.
• Minimum years of clinical laboratory experience vary with degree: 10 years with an Associate’s, 9 years with a Bachelor’s, 8 years with NAACLS program.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Operational needs of the Transfusion Medicine department.
• Verify inventory, supplies, reagents, and blood products for patient testing readiness.
• Communicate with vendors to troubleshoot issues and ensure equipment maintenance.

Education

Associate's Degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology

Bachelor's Degree in a related science field or Molecular Genetic Technology

NAACLS accredited Clinical Laboratory Science/Molecular Genetics Technology program
