Job summary

HSHS Medical Group is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technologist (MLS/MLT) for Transfusion Services at Springfield, IL. The role conducts a variety of tests on blood, body fluids, cells, and tissue to aid diagnosis and treatment.

The position is full-time (40 hrs/wk, days, every other weekend) at Springfield - St. John\'s Hospital. Requires a biology/chemistry background and NAACLS MLS/ASCP certification or eligibility, with certified lab experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with biological science, chemistry and mathematics coursework.
• NAACLS-accredited MLS/MT program or ASCP certification with lab experience.
• Certification must be obtained within 180 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform tests on patient samples using biomedical instrumentation and microscopes.
• Analyze specimens and report data to physicians for diagnosis and treatment.
• Support transfusion services in a fast-paced clinical laboratory environment.
