Job summary

Baystate Health is seeking a Medical Lab Scientist to join our Blood Bank at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA. The MLS will perform complex immunohematology testing and support transfusion services.

Qualifications

• Associates degree required in MLS/MT or related field.
• Certification as Medical Laboratory Technician (ASCP) preferred.
• Blood bank experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs complex immunohematology testing, including ABO/Rh typing, antibody screening and identification, and compatibility testing.
• Prepares and issues blood products, investigates transfusion reactions, performs specialized testing.
• Provides critical transfusion support to ensure safe and timely delivery of blood products to patients.
