JMC Jefferson Medical Center is seeking a Laboratory Supervisor to oversee day-to-day operations of the clinical labs. The role emphasizes staff supervision, coverage planning, and adherence to laboratory SOPs to ensure timely, accurate test results.

You will coordinate with LIS personnel and reference labs, participate in staff orientation and performance evaluations, and help implement quality control measures while ensuring compliance with safety and hospital policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree with licensure as required by the state (WV, PA, OH, MD).
• Four years of experience as a Medical Technologist/MLT/Histotechnologist or Cytotechnologist.

Responsabilités

• Supervise operation of laboratory services in assigned areas.
• Ensure appropriate staff coverage and staffing levels.
• Coordinate specimens and reference lab submissions within turnaround times.
• Oversee workflow and adherence to SOPs and policies.
• Maintain safety policies and compliance with applicable agreements.
• Participate in staff training and performance evaluations.
• Communicate with Medical Directors and department managers on issues and improvements.
• Assist in devising and revising standard operating procedures.
