Job summary

RumbergerKirk is seeking a motivated litigation associate with 2–5 years of civil litigation defense experience to join our Birmingham, Alabama office. This position offers the opportunity to work on meaningful, complex matters, interact directly with clients, and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team.

You will handle cases from inception through trial, take and defend depositions, attend hearings and mediations, and draft motions and settlement agreements.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of civil litigation experience and strong academic credentials.
• Experience handling depositions, hearings, mediations, and trial preparation.
• Excellent research, writing, analytical, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Handle cases from inception through trial.
• Take and defend depositions, attend hearings and mediations, and argue motions.
• Interview witnesses and experts and negotiate with opposing counsel.
• Conduct legal research and draft motions, memoranda, settlement agreements, and trial-related documents.
• Work directly with clients and collaborate with experienced attorneys on litigation strategy.
