The Birmingham, Alabama office of Wicker Smith O’Hara McCoy & Ford, P.A. is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney with 2 to 5 years of experience to join our dynamic litigation team.

This position will provide a unique opportunity to handle complex cases in a collaborative and client-focused environment. You will manage all aspects of litigation, perform in-depth legal research, draft pleadings, argue motions, and participate in mediations and trials.

Qualifications

• Exceptional legal research and writing skills.
• Strong and extremely meticulous organizational skills.
• Experience in Civil Litigation, including deposition.
• High academic credentials from a respected law school.
• Active license/ In good standing to practice law.
• Strong analytical, research, and writing skills.
• Excellent communication and advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Candidates should also possess the ability to take on significant responsibility and be team-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation.
• Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, pleadings, and motions.
• Represent clients in court appearances, mediations, and arbitrations.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and insurance carriers.
• Develop litigation strategies and work closely with senior attorneys and partners.
