Job summary

Clear Labs is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support robotic systems at its San Carlos HQ and at customer sites across the West Coast. The role emphasizes hands-on maintenance, rapid troubleshooting, and strong customer communication.

The ideal candidate has field service experience in biotech or robotics, is able to travel up to 50%, and can lift up to 80 lbs. Hamilton liquid handlers experience is a strong plus, and US work authorization is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field strongly preferred.
• Hands-on field service experience in biotech/life sciences/robotics.
• Strong troubleshooting across electronics, electromechanical systems, robotics, liquid handlers, computers, and networking.
• Experience with servicing Hamilton liquid handlers; Hamilton training is a plus.
• Excellent communication and customer relationship skills.
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs intermittently.
• Must be authorized to work in the US.

Responsibilities

• Preventative maintenance and emergency repairs on robotic systems at HQ and customer sites.
• Communicate with customers to project confidence in capabilities.
• Maintain detailed service reports and site visit records.
• Provide feedback to internal teams to improve system reliability.
• Support special projects and cross-department collaboration.
• Assist Client Care to maximize equipment uptime and responsiveness.
• Support logistics to ensure timely shipments and inventory optimization.
• Present a professional image to customers and vendors.
