Job summary

Mirai Bio, Inc. is seeking an exceptional Lab Operations Manager to lead our growing lab. This role requires managing facilities, vendors, and teams in a fast-paced biotech environment while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

You will optimize lab processes, coordinate equipment maintenance, and drive efficiency across inventory, purchasing, and logistics. A strong candidate will partner with scientists to remove bottlenecks and support project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in sciences or engineering related fields, or comparable industry experience.
• At least 5+ years of relevant experience in lab management.
• Experience in Biotech/Pharmaceutical laboratory environment.
• Experience in operations, vendor management, procurement, and safety.
• Knowledge of local, state, and applicable federal regulations relating to lab safety.
• Direct experience with LIMS, Laboratory Software, and Enterprise Software Systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and optimize lab processes to increase efficiency, including inventory and chemicals.
• Manage acquisition and maintenance of major lab equipment and service contracts.
• Oversee lab safety, regulatory compliance, including PPE policy and hazardous materials handling.
• Coordinate external providers for lab support services (SDS, IT, EHS, facilities).
• Coordinate annual permits, licenses, and lab deliveries/shipments.
• Manage shipping for domestic and international shipments of lab materials.
• Establish lab procedures and documentation, including annual cleanouts and calibrations.
• Collaborate with scientists to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for process improvement.
• Troubleshoot problems in the lab setting, including after-hours emergencies.
• Oversee general office operations and coordinate with Facilities/IT for conference rooms and common areas.
• Contribute to budget planning and review of service contracts.
