Job summary

Superluminal Medicines is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee the Boston site, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient lab and office operations. You will lead maintenance programs, manage contractors, and coordinate lab infrastructure to support ongoing R&D.

This role is onsite with on-call responsibilities in a dynamic biotech environment. The ideal candidate has 5–8 years in biotech facilities, strong project leadership, and a proven ability to balance priorities while

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Biotechnology, or related technical field.
• 5-8 years of facilities management experience in biotech, pharma, or lab environments.
• Experience managing third-party contractors, scopes of work, schedules, and performance.
• Experience in building systems (electrical, HVAC, plumbing).
• Experience leading regulatory requirements (OSHA, HAZWOPER, DOT).
• Experience managing contractors, vendors, and service agreements.
• Experience planning and executing projects, organizing workflows, and cross-functional communication.
• Experience managing competing priorities in an R&D environment.
• Ability to participate in onsite and on-call schedule.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily lab, office, and support spaces operations to ensure a compliant, efficient environment.
• Develop and manage preventative maintenance programs for building systems and assets.
• Maintain building systems performance including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety.
• Coordinate work orders, services, inspections, and engage with property management and contractors.
• Lead facility improvement projects with schedules, budgets, and minimal downtime.
• Manage shipping/receiving operations and facility access and security programs.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to support lab renovations, installations, and space planning.
• Coordinate lab infrastructure and utilities to support research activities.
