Job summary

MilliporeSigma seeks a dynamic Technical Application Specialist to drive growth through scientific engagement and application expertise in downstream chemicals used in biopharmaceutical production. This is a hybrid technical-commercial role with travel across the territory.

You will collaborate with Sales, Product Management, and R&D to translate customer needs into product solutions and to deliver high-impact engagements and seminars that showcase value to customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or related discipline.
• 5+ years of relevant biopharmaceutical process development experience.
• 2+ years in a customer-facing technical or commercial role.
• Strong knowledge of upstream and/or downstream unit operations for biologics and novel modalities.
• Excellent communication, presentation, relationship-building, storytelling, and influencing skills.

Responsibilities

• Achieve sales targets by collaborating with sales and product management to qualify, pursue, propose, negotiate and close opportunities.
• Increase win rate by driving New Product Introduction and Competitive Conversion initiatives.
• Establish relationships with R&D, PD, MSAT scientists, regulatory & quality experts, and decision makers; communicate advantages of downstream chemicals.
• Partner with Account Managers to develop and execute Hunting Opportunity Concepts for growth.
• Lead technical consultations and seminars highlighting value of our portfolio for modalities like mAb, viral vectors, and mRNA.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory guidelines, industry trends, and bioprocessing technologies.
• Work across internal teams to influence portfolio direction and customer value delivery.
• Monitor competitive landscape and emerging customer needs to drive positioning and solutions.
• Bring customer and market intelligence back to shape product positioning and innovation pipelines.
