MilliporeSigma in the RTP Area seeks a dynamic, customer-focused Technical Application Specialist to drive growth through scientific engagement and application expertise for downstream chemicals used in biopharmaceutical production.

In this hybrid role, you will serve as both a scientific consultant and business driver, collaborating with R&D, PD, and Sales to translate customer needs into product solutions, with travel about 50% domestically.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or related discipline.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in biopharmaceutical process development or related field.
• 2+ years in a customer-facing technical or commercial role.
• Strong knowledge of upstream/downstream unit operations for biologics and modalities.
• Knowledge of regulatory impact of raw materials used in biopharmaceutical processes.
• Excellent communication, presentation, relationship-building, storytelling, and influencing skills.

Responsibilities

• Achieve sales targets by collaborating with sales and product management to pursue opportunities.
• Increase win rate by driving New Product Introduction and Competitive Conversion initiatives.
• Establish relationships with scientists, regulatory experts, and decision makers; communicate scientific and value-driven advantages.
• Partner with Account Managers to develop and execute hunting opportunities for growth.
• Lead technical consultations and seminars highlighting value to customers.
