Job summary

UTHealth Houston in Houston, TX seeks a Sponsored Contracts Administrator to negotiate and administer a wide range of research agreements, including sponsored research agreements, clinical trial agreements, subawards, and data use agreements. You will redline language, craft solutions, and coordinate with faculty, SPA, OTM, CPHS, and sponsors to ensure compliance and alignment with project goals.

This role follows a Monday–Friday schedule with hybrid work options and offers a comprehensive

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required; Doctorate in life science or JD preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in research administration or contract negotiation; degrees may substitute.

Responsibilities

• Review, redline, and negotiate complex research agreements, including sponsored and clinical trial agreements.
• Coordinate internal discussions between SPA and OTM and attend PI meetings to assess relationships.
• Collaborate with departments, Legal Affairs, CPHS, Procurement, and UT System to resolve IP, data/materials, and regulatory issues.
• Serve as SME for grants and non-standard contracts to ensure consistent IP and data terms.
• Gather project details from faculty and administrators and draft language for unique agreements.
• Coordinate project account setup with the post‑award team for timely implementation.
• Participate in trainings to educate staff on IP, data ownership, and contractual policies.
