Job summary

UTHealth Houston is seeking a Grants & Contracts Specialist to support the Chairman's office in the Department of Surgery. The role will operate on a hybrid schedule after the probationary period and involve coordinating pre- and post-award activities, ensuring compliance, and providing guidance to investigators.

• 2 Years Of Experience Required
• Security-sensitive position; residency in Texas required

Responsibilities

• Assists Principal Investigator with pre and post award administration and coordinating.
• Analyzes proposed grants and contract proposals for special conditions and compliance.
• Advises investigators on allowability and allocability per agency guidelines.
• Distributes contract information to investigators and staff.
• Adjust budgets per contract requirements.
• Coordinates grant protocol with involved institutions.
• Develops progress plans with professional organizations related to grant funding.
• Compiles financial and personnel reports for grants and contracts.
• Negotiate with agencies regarding renewals.
• Oversees close-out of grants and contracts and final financial reports.
• Creates and maintains inventory of assets under grant accounts.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
