Job summary

GE HealthCare in Slidell, LA seeks a Biomedical Equipment Technician to evaluate, diagnose, repair and perform PM on basic biomedical equipment in the Northshore Region. You will collaborate with teammates, document actions, and maintain test equipment while ensuring compliance with GE policies and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• OR equivalent military education.
• OR participant in the formal GEHC Biomed/FE Services Internship or Military Externship program.
• OR High School Diploma/GED and 2+ years of experience servicing electrical, electronics, IT or mechanical equipment.
• Analytical and communication skills with the ability to communicate technical issues to the customer in an easy to understand manner.
• Must comply with GEHC background check and immunization requirements.

Responsibilities

• Respond to service calls to evaluate, diagnose, and repair basic biomedical equipment and perform planned maintenance (PM).
• Assist more experienced technicians on basic and more complex repairs.
• Communicate effectively with customers and collaborate with teammates.
• Document all repair actions and submission of reports according to schedule.
• Maintain tools, test equipment, and calibration; support on-call rotation as assigned.
• Ensure compliance with GE policies, hospital protocols, and regulatory requirements.
