Job summary

Aretum is seeking a skilled Biomedical Equipment Technician - Info/Sys to join our healthcare facility's team. You will maintain networked medical equipment, ensure device security, and support Cerner EHR integrations to uphold high patient-care standards.

Responsibilities include preventive and corrective maintenance, inspections, software repairs, and CMMS record-keeping, with collaboration across IT and clinical staff to sustain safe, reliable equipment.

Qualifications

• Two-year associate degree or higher in an applied science or equivalent military training.
• Minimum three years of hospital/healthcare experience performing medical equipment maintenance, with at least one year in medical information systems and networking.
• Strong knowledge of computer virus protection software, patches, upgrades, information security tools, electronics, computers and networking theory.
• Experience maintaining, interfacing and troubleshooting networked medical equipment including VLAN config, IP addressing, sub-netting, and network security.
• Familiarity with TCP/IP, HL7, networking, network security and DICOM standards.
• Travel readiness with 10–15% travel requirement.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on networked medical equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
• Diagnose and repair malfunctions following manufacturer guidelines and specs.
• Carry out incoming inspections for safety, functionality and accuracy.
• Collaborate with IT and cybersecurity teams on medical device security and patient data protection.
• Install, calibrate, and configure medical equipment per manufacturer instructions.
• Address hazard recalls in coordination with manufacturers and departments.
• Perform software repairs and updates for software glitches and compatibility.
• Keep accurate CMMS maintenance records of activities, repairs and inspections.
• Provide technical support and training to medical staff on networked equipment.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and biomedical equipment technology.
