Job summary

Aretum is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician – Info/Sys to join our healthcare facility. You will maintain and secure networked medical equipment, perform preventive and corrective maintenance, and support Cerner integrations.

This role requires strong IT and cybersecurity collaboration, preventive maintenance oversight, and a focus on patient safety through reliable equipment operation.

Qualifications

• Two-year associate degree or higher in an applied science or equivalent military training.
• Minimum of three years hospital or healthcare experience in medical equipment maintenance.
• Advanced knowledge of computer virus protection and security tools.
• Experience with TCP/IP, HL7, networking, and DICOM standards.
• 10-15% travel requirement.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on networked medical equipment to ensure functionality.
• Diagnose and repair malfunctions following manufacturer guidelines.
• Inspect incoming medical equipment for safety and functionality.
• Collaborate with IT and cybersecurity for medical device security.
• Install, calibrate, and configure medical equipment per manufacturer instructions.
• Monitor hazard recalls and coordinate resolutions with manufacturers.
• Perform software repairs and updates to address glitches.
• Keep detailed CMMS records of maintenance and inspections.
• Provide technical training to medical staff on equipment operation.
• Stay updated on biomedical tech trends and regulations.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless equipment operations.
• Experience with Cerner EHR integration preferred.
