Job summary

Aretum is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician – Info/Sys to join our healthcare facility. You will maintain networked medical equipment, ensure safety, and enhance patient care through secure systems and software updates.

The role involves preventive and corrective maintenance, inspections, device security, cybersecurity, and Cerner EHR integration experience is preferred. Willingness to travel up to 15% is required; join a team focused on collaboration and patient safety.

Qualifications

Two-year associate degree or higher in an applied science or equivalent training.
Three years hospital or healthcare experience with at least one year in medical information systems and networking.
Strong knowledge of computer virus protection software, patches and security tools.
Experience with TCP/IP, HL7, networking, and DICOM standards.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance on networked medical equipment to ensure functionality.
Carry out incoming inspections of new equipment for safety and functionality.
Collaborate with IT/cybersecurity teams to implement medical device security protocols.
Install, calibrate, and configure medical equipment per manufacturer guidelines.
Monitor hazard recalls and coordinate with manufacturers and departments for resolution.
Perform software repairs and updates on medical devices.
Maintain CMMS records of maintenance and inspections.
Provide technical training to medical staff on equipment operation.
Keep up with industry trends and regulations in biomedical equipment technology.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless equipment operation.
Experience with Cerner EHR integration preferred.
