Job summary

Advocate Health in Wisconsin seeks a Biomedical Equipment Technician to troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and test diagnostic and therapeutic medical devices. You will provide technical guidance to clinical staff and mentor interns, documenting all work and coordinating with manufacturers for service information.

You will also participate in ongoing training and recommend capital equipment replacements as needed, with travel to various sites as required.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of biomedical equipment.
• Basic proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office or similar products (Word and Excel).
• Use of personal vehicle for travel to various sites is required/expected.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs non-imaging diagnostic and therapeutic medical devices using standard electronic test equipment.
• Installs, calibrates, and tests new medical electronic devices and systems.
• Provides operational and technical advice on equipment to medical and clinical staff.
• Mentors entry level Biomedical technicians and Biomedical students (interns).
• Documents and maintains accurate records of inspections, repairs, adjustments on equipment; interfaces with manufacturers representatives for service information.
• Requests and/or orders repair services and spare parts per procedures and contracts.
• Participates in educational programs to maintain technical aptitude.
• Recommends capital equipment replacements to Clinical Engineering Leadership.
