Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair non-imaging diagnostic and therapeutic medical devices. The role includes installing, calibrating, and testing new medical electronic devices, with escalation to staff or vendors when needed.

Applicants will assist with maintenance tasks, document all actions, and mentor Biomedical students. Travel to various sites and strong MS Office skills are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Six months experience in electronic, mechanical, or electro-mechanical repair.
• Valid driver's license required for travel.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain non-imaging diagnostic and therapeutic medical devices.
• Install, calibrate, and test new medical electronic devices and systems.
• Escalate complex issues to appropriate staff/vendor resources.
• Perform planned and corrective maintenance, cyber-patching, and recalls as directed.
• Provide operational and technical advice to medical staff.
• Mentor Biomedical students (interns).
• Document inspections, repairs, adjustments, and parts used; coordinate with vendors.
• Participate in internal and external educational programs to maintain skills.
