Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair non-imaging diagnostic and therapeutic medical devices across multiple sites. The role involves installing, calibrating, and testing new devices, and escalating complex issues to vendor resources as needed.

You will provide technical guidance to clinical staff, mentor Biomedical students, and ensure documentation and parts management follow established procedures. Travel to sites is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Six months experience in electronic, mechanical, or electro-mechanical repair.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair non-imaging diagnostic and therapeutic medical devices using standard electronic test equipment.
• Install, calibrate, and test new medical electronic devices and systems; escalate complex issues to appropriate staff/vendor resources.
• Provide operational and technical advice on equipment to medical and clinical staff; interact with clinical staff to meet needs.
