Job summary

Blue Water Thinking in Phoenix, AZ seeks an experienced Biomedical Engineer to lead the medical equipment program and ensure safety, functionality, and regulatory compliance of medical technology in our healthcare facility.

The ideal candidate has at least three years in hospital or healthcare settings and deep knowledge of computer-based medical systems, networking, and information security. This role requires collaboration with clinical and administrative teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years in hospital or healthcare with medical equipment experience.
• Experience with computer-based medical systems, networking and information security in clinical settings.
• Ability to develop compliant medical equipment management programs and continuing education curricula.
• Ability to conduct recalls and safety alert investigations per patient safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive medical equipment management program meeting healthcare standards and regulatory requirements.
• Create and deliver a curriculum for continuing education on medical technology use for healthcare staff.
• Manage recall and safety alert programs for medical devices, including hazard investigations to satisfy SMDA and TJC goals.
• Lead capital asset planning for medical equipment from concept to installation and life-cycle management.
• Advise clinical staff on medical technology viability, safety, and compatibility.
• Apply project management to deploy medical equipment and health IT solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to ensure seamless integration of medical technology.
• Stay updated on ISO standards and regulatory requirements to drive continuous improvement.
