Himed, a biomaterials innovator based in New York, seeks a Biomaterials Research & Development Engineer for an on-site role in Old Bethpage, NY. You will design, develop, and optimize biomaterials and coating technologies for medical and dental devices, planning experiments and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support scale-up, validation, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills to interpret experimental data and troubleshoot processes.
• Experience in designing and translating product development concepts into manufacturable biomaterials solutions.
• Ability to plan studies, perform materials characterization, and verify coating performance and biocompatibility.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Materials Science, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with biomaterials, surface engineering, or coatings for medical/dental devices; familiarity with ISO 13485 and FDA-regulated environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication, proficiency with laboratory instrumentation and data analysis tools, and teamwork.
• Experience with DOE, statistical analysis, and documentation for quality and regulatory compliance.

Responsabilités

• Design, develop, and optimize biomaterials and surface treatments for medical and dental applications.
• Plan and execute experimental studies; perform materials characterization and performance testing.
• Analyze data to refine product designs and document results in reports/presentations.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and regulatory to support scale-up and validation.
• Contribute to new product development and customer-specific customization.
• Maintain adherence to ISO 13485 and FDA requirements throughout the R&D lifecycle.
