Job summary

Cerapedics in Westminster, CO seeks a Development Engineer to advance biomaterial, coating, and product technologies for bone graft solutions. You will design, test, and evaluate new materials, create prototypes for field testing, and support scale-up and technology transfer to production.

A typical day includes lab research, material analysis, prototype design, cross-functional collaboration, and detailed documentation to drive patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Ceramics-based biomaterials experience.
• Protein coating experience.
• Freeze-drying instrumentation and applications experience.
• Analytical instrumentation experience.
• Bone graft materials experience a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Solid analytical knowledge of biomaterials.
• Excellent communication skills—both written and oral.
• Ability to work independently, plan and prioritize.

Responsibilities

• Develop methods to process ceramic materials to generate diverse surface properties.
• Acquire and analyze soft tissue materials for new product platforms.
• Advance coating processes including peptide coatings.
• Collaborate with Commercial to configure product configurations for surgical bone grafts.
• Develop test methods to demonstrate product properties.
• Produce prototype configurations for field testing.
• Optimize processing for manufacturing.
• Represent R&D in stage-gate decisions and technology transfer.
