Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for a Senior R&D Scientist, Biomaterials, to support development of novel biomaterials technologies and guide projects through the product life-cycle. You will work within cross-functional teams across R&D, regulatory, and manufacturing, applying chemistry expertise to advance medical device innovations.

The role requires a PhD preferred or MS in chemistry/materials science or related field, plus deep biomaterials knowledge, strong communication, and leadership

Qualifications

• MS in Chemistry, Materials Science, Biomedical Engineering, or equivalent required.
• A PhD degree is preferred.
• Experience with GMP, QSR, and ISO quality requirements is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of biomaterials technologies and chemical test methods.

Responsibilities

• Support design and development of complex medical devices and projects through all product life-cycle phases.
• Act as SME in biomaterials science and chemistry; lead development of new technologies and product concepts.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to test and optimize designs for manufacturability.
• Develop testing protocols, execute or supervise lab tasks, and write technical reports.
• Design verification/validation plans and support global regulatory strategy.
• Contribute to intellectual property development for novel designs.
• Collaborate with supply chain and manufacturing to enable prototypes and documentation.
• Communicate results and recommendations to management and stakeholders.
