Job summary

BD is seeking a Staff Engineer, New Product Development in Franklin Lakes, NJ, hybrid work arrangement. You will lead development of next-generation thermoplastic elastomer formulations for medical devices, translating polymer science into scalable product solutions.

You will design experiments, analyze data, and collaborate across R&D, quality, regulatory, and manufacturing to ensure robust material performance and regulatory readiness.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in polymer research, formulation development, material characterization, or product-focused materials science.
• Proven experience designing experiments, analyzing complex datasets, and developing structure-property-performance relationships.
• Strong scientific writing, technical communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Demonstrated ability to independently lead technically challenging research programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of next-generation TPE formulations and structural systems for medical-device applications.
• Design and execute research strategies to understand polymer composition, morphology, processing, sterilization, and aging effects on device performance.
• Develop robust characterization methods, predictive models, and data-driven design rules for material selection and verification.
