Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret written work orders or specifications for bindery requirements.
• Must be able to calculate distances, clearances, and fits for machine setup.
• Skill in using standard and specialized tools to adjust bindery machines.
• Knowledge of complex bindery machines including binders, folders, cutters and collators.
• Understanding of finishing operations and paper stock finishing requirements.
• Ability to set up and adjust machines for quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust and operate various bindery machines and finishing equipment.
• Operate automatic bindery machines with multiple functions to produce final books, catalogs or magazines.
• Inspect equipment for safety issues to prevent hazards.
• Make adjustments to coordinate multiple work stations on a machine.
• Direct crew through production processes and maintain workflow.
• Monitor quality, output and productivity to meet standards.
