Job summary

RR Donnelley & Sons is seeking a Bindery Operator to set up and run a range of bindery and finishing machines, ensuring efficient production of books, catalogs, and printed materials. You will supervise crew, monitor quality and output, and mentor new staff to improve productivity.

The role requires interpreting work orders, coordinating equipment, and maintaining machine accuracy. Experience with multi-station bindery systems and attention to stock quality are essential.

Qualifications

• Reads and interprets work orders to determine bindery sequences
• Communicates and coordinates to ensure dimensional accuracy
• Adjusts and maintains bindery equipment for quality output
• Understands fully automatic bindery systems and associated folding/collating units
• Sets up and calibrates finishing equipment to prevent defects and waste
• Knows materials and stock properties to meet product quality requirements

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust and operate bindery machinery and finishing units
• Direct crew to manage multiple workstations across the production line
• Monitor output, quality, and productivity to meet targets
• Train and mentor new and existing employees on policies and best practices
