Job summary

RR Donnelley is seeking a Bindery Operator 2 (Overwrap Operator- Apprentice) in Durham, NC. The role is full-time, involving setup and operation of advanced bindery machinery to produce books, catalogs and finished materials.

You will read work orders, coordinate with the crew, and ensure safety and quality across the production line. Starting wage ranges from $21.00 to $29.41 per hour, with overtime and shift differentials possible.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret work orders to determine machine operations.
• Make independent decisions on equipment type and setup.
• Calculate distances, clearances, and fits for multi‑machine processes.
• Set up and adjust machines to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Understand paper stock quality and finishing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust and operate a variety of binding machines and attachments.
• Operate multi‑function bindery equipment to produce final books and catalogs.
• Inspect equipment for safety issues and monitor output.
• Direct crew through production and ensure timely delivery.
• Maintain dimensional accuracy per job specifications and quality standards.
• Monitor quality, output and productivity throughout shifts.
