Job summary

RR Donnelley in Monroe, WI is seeking a Bindery Operator 1 for the 1st shift (Mon-Fri, about 7:00am–3:00pm) starting at $20.15 per hour. You will set up and operate bindery machines, ensure quality and safety, and supervise a small crew on production lines.

The role requires familiarity with paper weights and dimensions, basic math, and the ability to adjust and maintain various bindery systems. Benefits include health, dental, and vision coverage, PTO, and 401(k) with match.

Qualifications

Familiarity with paper weights, sizes, kinds and colors to identify paper conditions.
Basic mathematics to understand dimensional requirements in job orders and to make adjustments.
Ability to use standard and specialized tools to adjust and maintain bindery machines.
Skill in using handtools (wrenches, screwdrivers, punches, knives) to adjust powered machines.
Ability to read and interpret written work indicating machine operation sequences.
Knowledge of bindery equipment setup and operation including folders, cutters, collators, stitchers, drills, binding/gluing machines.
Understanding folding, collating, and cutting to complete finished products.

Responsibilities

Set up, adjust and operate a variety of bindery machines and equipment.
May operate automatic bindery machines with multiple functions to produce final books and catalogs.
Inspect equipment for safety issues.
Direct crew through all aspects of production and monitor output.
Monitor quality, output and productivity.
Perform other duties as assigned.
