Job summary

RR Donnelley is seeking a Bindery Operator 1 at the Monroe, WI location on the 1st shift (M-F, about 7:00am–3:00pm). Starting pay is $20.15 per hour, with a range to $22.40 depending on experience and shift.

The role involves setting up and operating bindery equipment, maintaining quality and safety, and coordinating with the production crew to meet deadlines. Benefits include comprehensive coverage and 401(k) options.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with paper weights, sizes, colors and conditions.
• Strong math skills including decimals and metric units.
• Ability to use standard and specialized bindery tools to adjust and maintain equipment.
• Skill with hand tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, punches, knives) for adjustments.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders and machine operation sequences.
• Knowledge of bindery equipment procedures (folders, cutters, collators, stitchers, drills, gluing machines).
• Understanding setup, adjustment and limits of bindery equipment for folding, collating and cutting.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust and operate a variety of auxiliary binding machines with several heads and attachments.
• Set up automatic bindery machines with multiple functions and station capabilities.
• Inspect equipment for safety issues.
• Operate automatic adhesive binding machines with several process stations.
• Make adjustments to coordinate multiple work stations on a single machine.
• Direct crew through all aspects of production.
• Monitor quality, output and productivity.
• Other duties as assigned.
